Educational Services
Educational services are provided by qualified special education teachers. Teachers employ various instructional techniques in the classroom and include sensory integration, behavior modification and the use of multiple communication systems to improve each child's ability to progress in the classroom. Behavior therapists assist in the implementation of all IEP and related behavioral goals. Pine Grove, Inc.'s educational program operates year-round and educational (day) services are also available to students who reside in the surrounding communities (referrals must be made by the student's home school district).
Residential Life
Children at Pine Grove live in one of four group homes on the property. Children are directly supervised 24 hours a day. Intensive programming and individualized interventions are tailored to the developmental age and functioning level of the children and adolescents served.
Highly individualized behavior care plans focus on receptive and expressive communication skills, behavior management, daily living skills, and social skills. Each child also has an Individual Behavior Policy which outlines how our staff will respond to inappropriate and/or appropriate behaviors accordingly. All parents are offered and encouraged to participate in parent training classes. These classes provide an opportunity for parents to review and practice interventions utilized at Pine Grove so that they may be implemented in the home. Psychological services, speech therapy, language therapy, recreational programming, and community training are offered and tailored to meet individual needs.
